Absolutely loved this conversation with Kristen Ghodsee and Cllr Alys Mumford about being both a feminist and a socialist, and about some of the incredible women who have inspired us from around the world.

Thanks so much to the @edinburghgreens.bsky.social for organising 💚

The success of the far right is not only measured in votes and seats but in its impact on rhetoric, policy and ideology. The fact that a (nominally) social democratic head of government with a huge majority choses to say and do this is maybe the biggest success of the far right in Europe yet.

I’m pleased to be proposing this motion today 🇵🇸

The Scottish Government took a big step forward in supporting BDS calls from Green MSPs, but now they must do the same for Councils ⚖️

New powers need to be granted to local authorities or else the government position is just warm words ❌ 💬 🤷

Cultural boycotts have been vital in telling oppressive regimes they will not be normalised.

Israel must not be allowed to use Eurovision as a platform to launder its reputation while committing atrocities.

The UK should join the growing boycott of Eurovision if Israel takes part.

Bit late to the party on this one, but we've managed to get the government to scrap peak rail fares, permanently 🙌 🚂

As @caatuk.bsky.social in Scotland we've been campaigning on Scottish Enterprise funding to arms companies for the last decade. This decision from the government is still far from enough, but it's a big step in the right direction 🇵🇸

Trying to get a bit of a sense of whether there are Scottish-specific narratives about community organising here
katenevens.bsky.social
Has anyone read anything good about grassroots/community organising and movement-building in Scotland? Either academic or not, historical or current, on specific topics (anti-racism, housing etc) or more broadly...
