I came around the corner and our friends’ little pomeranian mix had silently jumped up and gotten an ENTIRE turkey leg and was eating it in the living room. I was so stunned I couldn’t say anything but “HEY!!!”

I’ve been hashing this out over and over with a few people & am getting madder and madder abt it tbh. How are you going to look at me, someone you KNOW is mixed-race Japanese, and 1) say Japanese people don’t mix races AND
this weekend was a huge confirmation of this, lots of “why do they do xyz?” “WE do xyz“ “well they don’t inter-marry with other races” (standing there, a mixed-race person)

being unkind to a service employee puts a black mark on YOUR VERY SOUL. just say please and thank you, give a wave or a head nod when they greet you (as they often contractually must do), and like…. treat them like a human being. do all this while remembering that many people are NOT doing all this!

Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season
