I say this just to make sure you really consider others. They are going through so much more than you know, but bc things weren’t official everyone surrounded by it should just move on. It’s unfair and unrealistic. We loved just the same as anyone, maybe more.

I have an unique and awful life experience. I lost a partner I wasn’t married or engaged to. Their family thought they were doing me a favor calling me a dear friend rather than a special friend in their obituary. A favor was not done. Instead I’m haunted by not being important enough:

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

Gemma, who is in 10th grade, invited Simon, who is in 7th grade, to hang out after school with her and her friends without me asking her to and I’m so happy and proud I did cry about it(it’s homecoming and they were waiting for the parade)
