I think my favorite part of working on this zine has been redesigning the visual language with each issue. When I set on to do this, I originally thought of it as a sort of "rinse and repeat" model so I could focus more on writing as much material as possible. That quickly went by the wayside.
All six issues of Yggdrasil MGZ laid out on the table.

I have had Dr. Doom on my mind a lot lately. I am of the opinion he is the most gothic of the marvel characters when written well. It makes him a good template to create a gaming villain that can conform to the needs of a game vs trying to conform the game to the needs of the villain.

This is the one time I agree with Kirk in this scene...

It doesn't help that we just had that speech by their adderall addicted boss talking about fitness standards and bears and shit a few days ago.

I don’t care if the movie doesn’t hold up to the comic. The opening of Valerian hits all my “why space exploration is important” notes and is done to Bowie.

I hate that every time you bring that up I ponder if that is bad because shit is so fucked.

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

Community action works.

I got my 2025 annual yesterday from @epidiah.bsky.social and @ndpdesign.com and it is really something. I'm looking forward to reading through it and adapting the adventurous scenarios for my own games.

The map by @tonydowler.bsky.social is stunning. He really has no peers.

Continuing to refine new ways to present my work since it doesn't translate well into the typical online book advertising models. I like these walk ups as they show what is inside the books, which is kinda important for a handmade art project.

Testament is an origin story. A memory. A memory of a place that isn’t. A memory of a place that could be. A memory of a life lived and all the lives that life touched.

Heusos is a story of gods, demons, frustration, fear, and defiance. The first myth learned before the fire.

I liked it a billion years ago. Curious if it still holds up. I expect a full review. 1000 words at least.

There is a gulf in America. I submit it is the gulf between good and evil, or at least not-evil and evil.

The gulf is not just between people who oppose this and people who are indifferent to it or reluctantly accept it in support of immigration policy or see it as collateral damage.

This raid is disgusting, abominable behavior, traumatizing children and families in their homes.

"They was terrified. The kids was crying. People was screaming. They looked very distraught. I was out there crying when I seen the little girl come around the corner, because they was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other," Watson said. "That's all I kept asking. What is the morality? Where's the human? One of them literally laughed. He was standing right here. He said, 'f*** them kids.'"

An AI "actor" is really just CGI placed on top of a chatbot. I mean, come on people. It isn't fucking Skynet.

The concerned citizen in me is worried about Ellison's views on the surveillance state and his relationship to the big gourd. The technologist in me is giggling because his firm hasn't been relevant in a long time.

Spent some time futzing around with my store last night and working on better images for the books. Trying out some new ways to stretch those 5 images per product. Here is the 9 page walk up for my latest book, Swepnos.

I mean, if you are going to pick a Dr. Seuss book, how do you not pick Cat in the Hat? Thing 1 and 2 are clearly Galleanisti.

I don’t believe most people do in general. I think most officers want to live honorable lives, not be the next person on the History Channel associated with something called the {Name of City} Massacre.

I really hope the American exceptionalism myth works in our favor here for once after people listen to the that war crimes speech and the thinking becomes, “How is this clown my boss?”
