I don't understand the desire by filmmakers to put anachronistic music in period films. Baz Luhrmann does it a lot.

I'm watching Luca Guadagnino's Queer and he has Prince and Nirvana songs in a movie set in the 50s.

It doesn't work imo and takes one out of the narrative.
