Unbeknownst to me, my six-year-old has been copying text from items lying around my desk (including my Modern Toss coaster) 😬

Completely. I guess the point people make about xG is exactly that. It is just one useful metric and has to be analysed in conjunction with others. I personally feel you do always need to allow room for the human element of contextualising the data. That’s true of data analysis across the board.

Perfect! Far better than the Greek tragedy line that was doing the rounds last night.

For sure! My questions have always been: What level of player is used as a base line for xG? Does the gap between xG and G widen as you go down the levels? And I guess, what impact does goalkeeping standard have on the gap between xG and G?

“Gunn and Dykes won that game tonight. An absolute disgrace of a performance.”

Tactical genius sees ‘lull them into false sense of security by plumbing new depths of shiteness for 63 minutes’ gamble pay off

I have absolutely no idea how Scotland won that game. Daylight robbery, and I’ll take it all day long!

I hear the problem is how extreme the left has been in their views and their rhetoric

ICE is hog tying protesters in Portland and removing them on Dollies.

This is dangerous and could cause serious injury.

The Department of Homeland Security thinks it’s a joke.

They’ve shared this video with the tagline “Refuse to Walk? We’ll give you a ride”.

Stay strong Portland.

I am also not a Milan fan, but Modric in a Milan kit is just [chef’s kiss]

I am not a Celtic supporter, but I have to say this is wonderful.

What’s the worst opening line to a song ever? I’ll go first: “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?”

Me (to 7yo daughter): It is never nice to call somebody an idiot. Don’t do it ever.

Also me: [watches Badenoch interview] 🤐🥴…

Badenoch, wannabe PM who campaigned for Brexit, claimed “NI voted Leave.” Reality: NI voted Remain. A proper sociopathic Tory: called out, she carries on, no apology, no correction, no shame. Never admit wrong, just lie louder and hope people swallow it. #ukpolitics

The old firm really are a total shambles at the moment, but it will never cease to amaze me how grown adults can behave like this. “Furiously” confronting total strangers in a hotel lobby. Good god man. Get a grip.

Javier Milei had to beg a bail-out and already needs another. Argentina's economy is in a tailspin. Gov't bonds and peso in freefall. People starving, throwing rocks at him.

Farage last year: "He's amazing. It's Thatcherism on steroids. Cutting and slashing expenditure. That's leadership."

Yes. Inclusive growth, and not growth that further exacerbates regional and socioeconomic inequality. Growth for growth’s sake doesn’t solve division, as we are seeing borne out around the developed world.

Exactly this. The more Labour pushes back against the Greens, the more likely I am to vote Green. The more Labour pushes back against Reform and Tory narrative and policies, the more likely I am to vote Labour. And calling out Reform while adopting many of their stances on immigration doesn’t cut it
paulbernal.bsky.social
Dear Labour, people aren’t leaning towards the Greens because they don’t know what the Greens are, but because they see what you, Labour, are doing.

The best way to stop them going to the Greens, is to have more left wing, less xenophobic, less stupid policies.

Attacking the Greens doesn’t help.

Great point in Turin that, for Atalanta. Particularly in the circumstances. But far from a vintage performance. Shame about the manner of Juve’s equaliser, but felt it was coming the deeper Atalanta defended

Sensational Sulemana!!! 😱💙🖤

Immigration is not the problem. An obsession with immigration, which has been allowed to become engrained nationwide over the past 15 years, is the problem. The UK and the Labour Party need a new leader. I don’t know if Andy Burnham is ‘it’, but Keir Starmer definitely isn’t.

And, let me tell you, step one is to stop sending your ministers to broadcast interviews with the message that they “understand the concerns” of racist mobs.

Oh, is he now? Because he should only have been doing this for the past five years, since he became Labour leader.
