Well.. It's been a constant theme that those most anxious for the hostages' release (their families) were angry with Netanyahu prioritising destruction over resolution. So this is not a Netanyahu audience.

I am glad that some relief will come to the people of Gaza, and will give Trump some credit for it. Is this rally thing appropriate though? And does Witkoff have to constantly direct adoration to Trump? How about some quiet dignity?

A prominent Republican years ago called the press to their house, where his garage had been graffitied. Painted there were "Anarchy" symbols and pro-Biden scrawls. It was obvious that it was fake. No self-proclaimed leftist iconoclast would support Biden.
But with Trump and his pals, it's different

I believe that fascism's ambition (as demonstrated in Italy Spain and Germany) IS to be "everywhere". The universities, press, churches, schools, medicine, commerce.. Stamping on one company or newspaper, chills real people in others, who think "is my job safe?".
Instantaneous? No. Dynamic? Yes.

In recent photos of Trump ... he's not looking good. Cosmetics aren't really going to do it for much longer. The facade is starting to sag. It really isn't going to last all that much longer before the whole thing's condemned.

Good point. The Right doesn't obsess about institutions like the UNations or the higher arts or sciences or aid agencies or charities, and certainly not about the Nobel awards. Except that Trump's been working up a snit on this for around 6 years, and they all have to pretend it matters to them.

Hillary's quite active on social media, but no comments on Epstein. Suggests a vulnerability. Bill undoubtedly hitched rides on Epstein's jets. Possibly that's all.
Bill v Trump. If it's VERY bad for only one it's big trouble. If that's Bill, Clintonworld will shake. Infidelity tho is just old news.

Cards on the table. If Trump had ended the Ukraine War on his first day in office as he promised (but justly - return to 2012 borders, Russian acceptance of war guilt, reparations, Ukraine free to join whatever organization it chooses), I would have been on the phone to Nobel committee myself.

I was a little startled by the boldness of the attack. "Bleeding heart liberal Goldie Hawn should go back to Russia and take her commie friends with her" etc.

Same. Bezos did it in the teeth of opposition from his staff and readers. At the same time they made the discussion pages so unusable that it was hard for people to express themselves and for anger to build momentum. Instead came stupid AI summaries.

The places they most need to be are Fox and Newsmax. Of course they'll get some hostile questions and of course many of the viewers aren't receptive. But that's where they will make a difference.

I guess I watch too many documentaries. Cronkite gets the news that the President has died, reads it straight to the public. looks behind to a clock to get the right time, and then fights back tears for his country. How he would cry today.
