In a desert viewed as a wasteland, people turn a blind eye to anything from ecological destruction to genetic experimentation as long as it makes cash. Cruelty is a given— but so is kindness, if you look closely. The story takes place over the timespan of about a decade and has three major parts with time skips in-between. Part Three (P3) is the "present day". Grimm and Yarrow are the protagonists; the two of them irreversibly change one another in many ways as they go from strangers to intensely devoted partners."
