[Review] The show about the stinky little trashboy who flings poop at his mentors and smiles with all of the grace of a meth-fiend baboon has proven to have a shockingly deep and nuanced emotional core.
Never underestimate the average white person's intrinsic need to performatively illustrate the immense psychological and spiritual pain it brings them to try and pronounce any foreign-sounding name with more than two syllables.
we correctly recognize this shit as cringe now, but in the 90s and early 00s everyone in the gaming press was doing this. any discussion of a japanese game had to be prefaced with a hedge about how anything japanese is so -weird- and -different- and, implicitly, unworthy of being liked unironically
Cannot believe it's the end of 2025 and we are still doing "haha Japanese names so hard to pronounce I'm not even going to try, and then say NAILED IT" as a joke
This just sucks man.
