I know there was a small trend forever ago, but looking into it now, it's probably just an AI voice while using drawings available from some program/website or could be just entirely AI

Honestly, was scrolling through next fest on stream last night and low key made fun of anyone who used gen ai for their steam covers.
It was always so obvious and so bad looking, and didn't even match anything that was in the game.
It's the worst way to do a sales pitch.

Whenever indie devs use AI, it hurts their sales potential and retention because it’s a 🚩red flag for generalized unprofessionalism and cut corners.

Getting real art from a pro will make you look like a pro.

If you're a solo dev/small indie team looking for art or logos please don't turn to genAI. I would honestly rather folks reach out to a designer and offer like rev share alongside a smaller up front cost to get something made by a person.
