Are you talking about the tattoo that he had for 10+ years or the old reddit posts?

I think the tattoo should end his campaign. But it was apparently not enough for Bernie to withdraw his endorsement.

The reddit posts are a closer call, but we'll never know b/c the tattoo is a much bigger story.

This slippery slope bothers me almost as much. This isn't "was a dumbass kid doing embarrassing things," it's a Nazi insignia. If anything, the fact that it didn't immediately sink his campaign is a sign that an embarrassing post of drunken shenanigans or poor taste jokes isn't as bad as you think.

Yeah, I think that only applies to county commissioner in giant counties. Like Los Angeles county or something. The 90 some percent of counties that have less than 200k people probably don't get a deep dive.

"To have any hope of being competitive" is carrying a lot of assumptions. I think OP is taking about races where a well funded candidate would probably get like ~30-40% of the vote anyway, so nobody serious runs. In those races, a few dozen hours from an amateur with no ads might get 15 or 20%

among other things, I'm just so sick of candidates like Platner, Biden, John Edwards, Anthony Weiner, who fucking know they have skeletons that cannot possibly win a campaign with and are willing to sacrifice all of us on their own arrogance and delusions that nobody will notice
