My review for Tomba 2’s re-release is now live and… I wasn’t a big fan. I feel more could have been done to make this the definitive version of the game instead of settling for a straightforward port.

Excuse my previous post. My ass was so excited about Don Lee being in a game that I confused the title of his ongoing film series. The Round Up is what Gang of Dragon looks like, except this time Ma Seok-do is in Japan.

I really dug Tomb Raider Anniversary when it released 18 years ago, but I don't know if the game needs a second remake. The original Tomb Raider is now available everywhere and in a pretty damn good remaster, too. Why remake it again?

Half way through Kill Bill, the new footage is integrated pretty seamlessly. I’m not sure the extended anime sequence adds anything, but it’s cool to see.

For real this time, my review for Blood Refreshed Supply. Another winner for @nightdivestudios.bsky.social even if the price is steep. Thank you to @polwingedhussar.bsky.social for the key (sorry about embargo, haha).

Somebody tell me, is Horses more controversial than The Night Porter? There's always this sensation in gaming where something mildly provocative gets attention because a lot of gamers don't engage with other art forms. Is a game about horses owning humans more controversial than Nazi sex cults?

Didn’t think I’d wind up crying over a late era Tom Hanks movie, but here we are. A Man Called Otto is quietly poignant, even if the screenplay is messy and the plot kind of scatterbrained. I truly hope, in my day, that I can inspire people around me like his character does, even with a rough facade

Here is my belated review for @nightdivestudios.bsky.social's latest remastering effort, "Outlaws." The cult-classic LucasArts shooter holds up quite well, though it does suffer from some level design issues. Still an easy recommendation.

I can’t believe this needs to be said, but allowing swastikas in the coast guard means you support nazism. There is no other reading of that.

In a career first, I got to re-review Yakuza Kiwami 2 nearly a decade later and I’m not as hot on it anymore. While still an interesting story and pivotal part of the series, I wish Sega would re-release the PS2 version now.
Kiwami 2's belated Switch 2 port is a solid conversion that can’t quite fill the gap missing from the absence of the original Yakuza 2.

100% agree. I love the Yakuza games, but RGG Studio has been incredibly tone-deaf about who it will cast and what modifications it makes to past games. They've also been pumping out a lot of samey garbage for a while now.
Hamazaki Has To Goh - where does Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio draw the line on casting, and why is it not at sexual assault? by @ashlikeadragon.bsky.social

"it’s particularly insulting and disgusting for him to be cast in a series that has historically featured sex pests being (rightly) beat up"

I got to review Powerwash Simulator 2 for Nintendo Wire. While it’s still a good time, the difficulty balancing makes the later levels feel too easy.
PowerWash Simulator 2 offers more zen-like cleaning for fans, but doesn't really expand on the original's core concept.

I got to review PvZ Replanted for Nintendo Wire and it’s mostly good. It just sucks that more care wasn’t given to such a legendary game, not to mention the disregard for input from the original devs.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted for Switch is a faithful remaster to the original classic, but one that doesn’t come without its share flaws and missteps.
