No, I'm not Spartacus. I'm Antifa(scist).
I see a lot of calls for the 25th here, which tells me you're either trolling or ignorant. Assuming the latter, a really brief overview:

Say JD gets 8 cabinet members to agree. Trump writes a letter saying Nuh-uh I'm fine and he's back. Yep. But there's a chance of success if they carry on.

Not really. It's the consequence of American racism and misogyny. That others played the tunes on those instruments doesn't change the fact that those were the instruments that led to this situation.
How Trump was elected president for the most powerful nation on Earth - TWICE - will go down in history as one of the truly biggest mysteries.

Even at 70% - really? Almost 1 in 3 picked up are innocent and you think this is a good thing??
BRENNAN: What percentage of those you have in custody have committed crimes?

NOEM: 70% of them

B: It's not 70%

N: Yes it is. You guys pick and choose numbers

B: Your agency says 47% have criminal convictions

N: Wrong again. We'll get you the correct numbers

B: Well, that's from your agency

For no particular reason, I felt like re-reading a few chapters of Clancy's _Red Storm Rising_ and pondering what if anything has changed logistically over the last 40 or so years.

Yesterday I treated myself to biscuit sandwiches with fried ham and a bit of red-eye gravy inside. In addition to being delicious they gave me the energy to get through the day that it was.

I'd forgotten how much I like red-eye gravy, but I don't dare make it as an evening meal if I want to sleep.

An observation

Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race. So when you talk about racism and ask why more hispanics don't oppose it, it might be that there are a lot of white hispanics who unfortunately drop the "hispanic" most of the time.

Even if this doesn't cross posse comitatus lines, sending the arctic angels in is another politically blind action. Military force against non-violent protest?
What fresh hell?!

From one who works weekends, may yours be full of peace with the occasional pleasant surprise.

For me, this is Monday. I do not expect the morning's surprises to be pleasant. I just hope they're not interesting.

"[Y]our legal obligations and duties." It's a subtle thing, buried in the middle. If what they are doing are NOT their legal obligations and duties, then opposition is not obstruction, is not criminal conspiracy against the US or ICE officers, and it is ICE instead that should face justice.
Starting to think there may not be a peaceful solution to this and maybe y’all need more than whistles
This is not the language of the government of a free country.

Isn't this the same group that told Harris and Walz to quit calling Republicans weird?
The timing of this is so incredible given that just this week polling shows that "abolish ICE" is now a more popular position than not abolishing ICE
Third Way telling Democrats they need to drop the “abolish ICE” slogan if they have hope of winning back the majority in Congress

I'm coming to the belief that qualified immunity is too strong. That he didn't mean to shoot the owner, he meant to shoot the dog doesn't change the fact he shot Hight. At best it should make it a lesser manslaughter, not a get out of jail free card.
8th Cir.: because officer was trying to shoot a 9-pound Pomeranian mix when he missed and shot the dog's owner instead, he did not intend to restrain owner, he intended to restrain the dog, which means there was no seizure so no 4A violation.

QI for officer.

If a LEO presents and/or uses deadly force in the absence of lethal threat to officer or bystanders - as judged not in the instant but in the totality - then they should be charged with felonious assault through (attempted/actual) manslaughter to murder as the details determine.

This I believe.

For reference please see Cheech's movie "Born in East LA". Made in 1987 and while a much gentler racism is shown it's still racism from the immigration forces.
This is true. ICE is younger than the movie Shrek.

But, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) existed long before it was dissolved into ICE, and fulfilled a similar purpose. For example, my mother in-laws roommate was kidnapped from her apt. 1 day before my MIL’s wedding in the 70s.

semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

I believe we have three off-ramps left, all hazardous and chancy with many twists and turns to reach much less take without crashing.

Mid-term elections and getting a majority in at least one of the houses. 2028 elections. Trump passing in the night.

The first two are in our hands. Let us proceed.

I sadly expect comparisons to what soldiers saw at Buchenwald and Ohrdruf, but with a lot more cameras.
The moment that anybody outside the DHS apparatus gets inside one of these facilities without cleaning up beforehand, we're going to see things that even the most hardened and cynical among us can barely comprehend.
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents.

I've asked before, but seriously - what chaos ensues when Trump kicks the bucket? JD is basically ignored right now - who in the current circle of power is suddenly going to find themselves fighting to stay in?

I really want to know if JD & Miller (among others) are friends or foes.

So a CBS Evening News reporter actually did a pretty solid breakdown of the ICE murder video, talking to a former agent who details all the ways Ross messed up. And yet: It didn’t air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTube—and it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...

It is the position of the Trump Administration that its agents can come into any state and city in America (let alone other countries) and kill people and that state and city have no jurisdiction to inquire about it.

Treat any Trump official accordingly.
Noem on Minnesota officials: "They have not been cut out. They don't have any jurisdiction in this investigation."

Dammit.

Just before the officer draws, the car jerks forward in his general direction while turning its wheels to the right. That's one bullet of potential "self defense".

Doesn't excuse the other two bullets, doesn't excuse walking in front (maybe to set this up), but it's there.
Thanks to @karenattiah.bsky.social for recommending this. It's disturbing but not graphic except for one scene at the end. If you don't want to see that, stop when the SUV hits the parked car.

Better yet, disestablish all of DHS, and undo the nightmarish idiocies that we created in a panic 25 years ago. Reestablish the INS, get rid of ODNI, fix the damage from the Patriot Act, etc.
For the love of all that is decent and holy: abolish ICE

Knowingly or not, you did.

The choice now is whether you bind yourself to that for the rest of your life, or you act to gain absolution.
