Thought you would enjoy seeing!
I'm not 100% sure if we're going to keep these in the shop going forward (I'm considering my various licensing fees going into next year!) but for now we still have a few of these amazingly fun deep sea creature coasters!

Grab them before they vanish, and get a deal!

i don’t think people on bluesky understand the severity of this situation.

i woke up to literally hundreds of texts from friends and family thinking about either moving back home to india or applying to other countries for jobs. this includes me.
Those on an H1B cannot return to the US from tomorrow (Sunday) unless paying $100K. This is an out-of-the blue presidential action. We’ll see software engineers stranded abroad.

One easy to predict outcome: those on US visas will travel less… for work, for conferences etc.

Central Park's lost Budgerigar continues to thrive in her usual area, near West Drive from 81st to 85th Street, aided by warm weather that is expected to continue over the next week. 🦜 💛

Blessings upon these folks (and their kin such as cashiers who stop people from buying large numbers of gift cards) and their efforts
NEW: Bitcoin ATMs are facilitating scams across the country. In Idaho, where there are no laws regulating the machines, I spoke to store clerks who have been stopping scams as a last line of defense.

How Bitcoin ATMs Are Helping Scammers Steal Millions
As Bitcoin ATMs spread unchecked, gas station employees are becoming the unlikely the last line of defense against crypto fraud.

Another great thread where rah shares and people chime in with good experience/suggests or Qs about managing things.

🧵 for extra.... 📌 Travel--emergency plane exit prep
If you are flying, your ID/wallet and a 24 hour supply of only any medications you absolutely can't survive without for 24 hours should be in your pocket or a bag *securely fastened* to your person with nothing loose, sharp, and no straps able to catch on things.
People are roasting the new Austin city logo harder than the #crackerbarrel rebranding. Maybe because we paid a million dollars for it? It's seriously an expensive eyesore. #austintx #uglylogo Petition here: www.change.org/p/let-austin...

That's odd. Most just pull out the socket and screw in a new bulb. The choice of bulb is tricky though because the cooler LEDs don't heat the salt properly to stimulate the healing properties.

A couple of years ago, a curious, then-16-year-old hacker named Reynaldo Vazquez Garcia found what seemed to be a “smart” smoke and vape detection gadget in his school called the Halo 3C. He discovered it monitored much more than just smoke.
It Looks Like a School Bathroom Smoke Detector. A Teen Hacker Showed It Could Be an Audio Bug
A pair of hackers found that a vape detector often found in high school bathrooms contained microphones—and security weaknesses that could allow someone to turn it into a secret listening device.

Gerrymandering is one of their many tools to silence our voices.

They use the law to make our vote meaningless so they can stay in power forever.

This is fascism.
Gerrymandering undermines the power of marginalized communities by manipulating district boundaries to weaken their collective voice. For Black, Latino, Indigenous, immigrant, low-income, and other disenfranchised groups, this often means remaining unheard in the places where decisions are made.

So apparently, it may turn out that The Wizard of Oz at the Las Vegas Sphere wasn’t entirely made in AI and Google threw the VFX crew under the bus by claiming it was all done by artificial intelligence.

If true, then fucking yikes.

Many contractor workers often end up in contract work specifically because they need flexibility in their lives, whether it's raising kids, caring for older family members, managing chronic illnesses, etc. And we have to pay MORE taxes for the flexibility we need to work.
Seriously CAN WE TALK ABOUT TAXES ON AUTHORS & OTHER CONTRACT WORKERS THO
I cannot describe the rage I feel when the guy trying to inspire pity for the billionaires refers to the rich giving a horrific "15%" of their yearly income in taxes when as a self-employed author I was often paying fucking 30%.
I'm reading #thenewmenopause by Dr. Mary Claire Haver. #GenX aren't taking the set backs from #menopause from previous generations lightly. This explains why the #HRT scare from the late 90's/early 2K was a scam and what new options are on the table now.
