It’s also clear that Australia’s political class has failed to give young people a sense that they have an investment in their country that is worth fighting for. Coming elections might be less of a cakewalk than Labor is currently telling itself they’ll be.
Yes, young people are different. The political class has no idea how different
Labor might be delighted that the Coalition is turning its back on the growing tide of young voters. But those voters don't share many of the basic values of *either* of the major parties.

It’s great to see teachers fighting back against News Corp. Unfortunately though, asking News Corp to act ethically by stopping their offensive and obsessive ranking of schools is like asking News Corp not to exist. The class-based snobbery is the point of News Corp!

News Corp attacked by school leaders over NAPLAN rankings
Forty-one signatories to an open letter say they are "dismayed" and that school rankings cause "harm to our communities".

Predictably, News Corp have ignored teachers’ pleas for them to stop pitting schools against each other by publishing uncontextualised rankings. Since they’ve ignored this, I’m sharing the list of Australia’s most untrusted brands. News Corp number 8 - should be higher! A toxic stain on Australia.

Aussies talk about equality while reinforcing 2 tiered education. A wealthy one for the privileged & a lesser one for everyone else. We do similarly with healthcare, hospitals.

Housing is especially egregious. The richer & more houses you own the more tax perks you get.

Encouraging lobbyists to use encrypted apps with disappearing messages in their dealings with public servants is *not* increasing transparency.

'There are still people recovering from the trauma': The Goldstein campaign was worse than we thought
While the 2025 federal election inquiry has shown there was a clear rise in hostility at election booths around the country, Tim Wilson's electorate of Goldstein seems to have reached another level.

Robodebt wasn’t caused by failed leadership, it wasn’t caused by officials quietly advancing their careers while turning a blind eye to bad stuff happening on their watch. Nor were malfeasance or misfeasance involved. Rather transparency is to blame!..."
Fat Cats say what? Too much transparency caused Robodebt scandal - Michael West
In an extraordinary pitch for a public servant scrutiny void, senior public servants have blamed Robodebt on transparency.
