yuppp that's exactly what happened I think. We play with this switch infrequently so I think the lack of charging must've aged out the battery? we're definitely going to be checking all of our electronics after this haha

Yeah, kinda not happy that nintendo is making me pay 2200 yen + delivery to fix the battery on a 3 year old joycon.

Gonna bite the bullet and send it in tomorrow, keeping the spicy joycon in a tin box for tonight. just grateful that we noticed it early... 🫠

also VERY interesting that regular day visitors are basically down ~30k since last year. I think TGS 2024 might've been a wakeup call for a lot of casual visitors and a lot of people may have given up this year.

others have worded it better than I ever will, but it really does feel like TGS keeps pushing away indies further into a dark corner with every year. and for what? to make space for big companies and AI to take up more space? such a shame.

out of the previous four I’ve been to, the event itself was pretty mid. the main draw of TGS, the big company booths, were weirdly… plain? empty?

glad I could meet some old friends, but yeah. kinda disappointed.

Depends on what you're there for! Meetings/interviews tend to be business casual, but most people will just be wearing a t-shirt and pants/jeans combo when out on the floor or boothing.

With all the walking you do, best to go with something comfortable to move around in IMO. 🚶‍♂️

Zoff and Jins are the two main budget brands, they're basically the uniqlo of glasses here. You can find some pretty nice designs and it's fairly quick (unless you need really strong lenses) but the quality is mid. My pair of Pokemon collab glasses from Zoff broke after 2 years :(

It's legit my opinion that people with loc backgrounds should be hired to do original games writing way more often than we are. Part of the job is often punching up stale material. Barks especially, we handle so many, a lot of us have likely written more in our careers than the original writers.
