Readers: keep buying, sharing, and talking about books, esp by marginalized authors. Put in purchase requests at your library. Buy from your local bookstore. Preorders are ideal. Don't wait for the series to finish before buying. Read widely and more often. Read trad pub, small press, and self-pub.

An extreme Kansas bill will invalidate the drivers license of every trans person in the state. It was passed alongside a particularly extreme bathroom bill, meaning that the implications of every trans Kansan losing legal ID overnight has largely been missed.
Kansas Bill Will Strip Driver’s Licenses from Every Trans Resident Who Changed Gender — Assigned
As Kansas passes a bathroom bill, another bill that will invalidate the driver’s license of every trans resident has been deemphasized in the coverage. Also, Trump’s Department of Education says San J...

The great tragedy of Shan LeClaire is that she wants to be a good person, she tries to be a good person--

But whenever the slightest bit of power is dangled in front of her, she'll make the wrong choice again and again

We already have a warrant requirement. It's called the US Constitution. If that's not fucking binding them, what the hell does your little agreement mean?
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals:

° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement

° Create a code of conduct and enforce it

° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks
Democrats demand new ICE restrictions as government shutdown looms
After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Senate Democrats say they’ll block a massive government funding package without policy changes.

I hate being the way that I am, cause what do you mean a book I've been super excited about finally arrived and I can't read it cause of the TEXTURES

Why is the cover glossy like that? Why do the pages feel so weird? Why do they make *that sound* when turned???

I'm cursed 😭

Shan desperately tries to convince herself that she hates the King, that she fears him--

But the truth is that they are made of the same, terrible darkness, and her fear is that she will become him.

And once they meet, the King does everything he can to make that happen.
Does your MC have a hero or somebody they admire? Do they get to meet? If so, how did that go? #WritingPrompt

Time to call your reps again. 5 calls hasn't got a script up yet, but I'm sure they will soon. Or write your own. Either way, pick up that phone and start hassling.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

A Dem Senator’s Harsh Takedown of Trump Hits Home: “Breaking Point”
As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

Everything revolves around the Eternal King.

Shan is envious of his power, Samuel enraged by his cruelties, Isaac driven to undo the horrors that he committed as his right hand.

The Eternal King is the beating heart of everything wrong in their world, and they won't be free till he is gone.
Does your MC have any particular rivalries or enemies that are important to them? Who is it? Why is beating them so important? #WritingPrompt

Using physicality to explore character growth, via both body horror and sexual desire (sometimes at the same time!)

Oh, and letting characters make terrible mistakes, regardless of if it makes them unlikable
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.

I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.

No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at

Is anyone brave eniough? 👀
