So, what do you wanna talk about?
Might start posting on here again ngl. Too much dooming on twitter regarding Arsenal

Cunha has better output than £115m Isak, all whilst playing for a significantly worse team and having much tougher fixtures to start the season

We’re going to have to play Kiwor RCB and #5 at RB for a few games but apart from that, our squad is in a pretty healthy state for rotation this month whilst maintaining these same dynamics

The 2-4-4 is by far our best system and what fit our players the best:

-Our best goal scorers(Wingers) are the highest players up the pitch
-All our CMs thrive more in a double pivot
-FBs are allowed to stay wide instead of inverting
-The CF and AM can dictate play from deep

Raya became a victim of our OOP success in 23/24, despite his contributions to this being big. Facing few shots led people to think he’s not a good stopper. But his Brentford days was evidence of his credentials in this regard. This season he’s just gone up a level in all areas.

This club are actually giving Trossard a new contract. Why can’t we ever move on our bench players when their stock is still high?

I can easily avoid spoilers from my late stream by being on here + I won’t have to endure dooming from Arsenal fans when we aren’t 3-0 up in 10 mins
Where’s everyone going to be on matchday, Bluesky or Twitter?

Andrew Tate got banned from Bluesky in less than one day.

Another reason things are so much better here than Twitter.

My last newsletter: a huge (8,000+ word) tour through 14 topics currently facing Arsenal, and what can be done about them — including deep manipulation, central dribbling, shot selection, Nwaneri, Merino, and more. From before Chelsea, but still stands:

NEW: Arsenal have a lot of hard games behind them and Martin Ødegaard back, here's a look at all that, issues of late, some optimism and the need to now go on a big run: p1r.es/4fTs56r

For @arseblog.com
Now or never: Odegaard's return must propel Arsenal's season
The last thing a team chasing the title wants is to lose a key midfielder. A missing key defender can often be covered by his team-mates and collective organisation, playing without a star forward mea...

The return of Riccardo Calafiori will be massive for #Arsenal.

He brings personality, aggression and huge technicality to our first phase build up, and moves up with possession.

With Merino and Martinelli coming into form, we can transform our left hand side after the break. #AFC

Martin Ødegaard - Arsenal 2024-2025 Creative Midfield radar and distribution

I am going out on a limb here and making the bold claim he is pretty good at this and Arsenal have missed him in the team.

Martinelli- Merino- Calafiori pod- balance really can be that simple.

Wide outlet is a strong footed overlapper pushing the dangerous SS winger inside whilst the progressive second ball winning CM sits to protect the space.

We’ve been robbed of this.

He doesn't suit this iteration of Arsenal much low-key. This style of stable dominance, with methodical progression through the wings is actually anathema to the things he happens to be good at. His entire thing is beating that first line of pressure and spraying it to someone in transition 1/x
One of the topics covered on the data review podcast was Thomas Partey and how he is playing well (but still not nearly what he was at the peak) but it has lined up with the team playing less well.

Correlation does not mean causation

Declan Rice-Carlos Baleba

The closest approximation to Camavinga on the market.

You don’t have to sacrifice legs in your DLP scouting- having the left footed CM that drops outside the middle third with his vision + ability to receive in the block.

My biggest issue with Elden Ring getting nominated for GOTY is that we’re just coming off a year that had Future Redeemed AND Phantom Liberty

I don’t think any DLC should win but only making that exception NOW after those two got nothing feels like FromSoft bias, whether it actually is or not
