Hideo Katsumata: I can’t talk about the details, as that includes some very private matters. But if you ask whether it’s a creative or business issue, the reasons stem from the creative side. The main reason is that it couldn’t be made due to creative reasons. Since it was an original animation, the people involved—including the creators and the animation studio, MAPPA… among the creators, on the creative side, a situation arose where it just became impossible to proceed with production.

Being frankly honest, I fucking loved that finale for Peacemaker season 2. I do think, going by the major backlash to it, that James Gunn vastly overestimated a few things:

1) How much ball the average superhero media fan knows, because most people aren't grasping the "OH SHIT" factor of this

Perhaps of note to the people who were excited that the PS5 disc contained "all" of Battlefield 6 is that EA has the ability to disable modes remotely. So right now the campaign is just gone from the game and won't be back until the game goes live tomorrow. Good thing I finished it last night!
