a lot of people are finally waking up to the importance of the 3rd amendment. As a 3A absolutist, i think it should be illegal for soldiers to be quartered anywhere in this country. they should be camping under the open sky at all times. all military bases and barracks are unconstitutional.

I predict it'll still look goofy in 2030, and it'll still require way too much domain knowledge for casual fans to really appreciate it over regular football.

I dunno, maybe it'll take off if BD figures out a gambling mechanic more addictive than standard sports betting.

The fundamental issue is that IRL robots are goofy as hell, and there's a huge technical barrier to entry for fans to even know what's going on.

Even in battlebots, which is the most Unga Bunga robot sport in existence, you need a lot of knowledge about robotics to appreciate what's happening.

I think you're seriously overestimating how many people would be interested in a sport built around robotics tech demos tbh.

Like, we already have this in K-12. It's called FIRST Robotics, it's a moderately popular HS program, and the only people in the stands are parents of the students competing.

It's also ignoring how many major human achievements and works of art were made while under the influence of a mixture of stimulants and anxiety.

Every now and then there's an overstock issue that results in a real sale, but Amazon tries its hardest to prevent that.

Most of the vendors on Amazon are constantly operating on very thin margins in order to be price competitive, so there's no wiggle room for a real sale. They just mark stuff as being on sale at random instead, or set the price higher than it ought to be and then do a permanent sale.

I think adopting European standards for pedestrian safety and mandating them for all non-commercial vehicles would defacto ban all of the lifted truck nonsense, while also taking the American SUV out back and putting it down like Old Yeller.

Banning lift kits over a certain height would be a huge safety win for pretty much everyone.

They make the vehicle ridiculously unstable, so on top of the visibility issues, almost every crash becomes a rollover.
