Let's be perfectly clear: there is nothing wrong with the government borrowing during trying times if that money is being used wisely on infrastructure and to keep the people safe, warm and healthy.

However that's not what's happening. It went to landlords to make their wallets thicker.

Hipkins said on BHN last night that the current regulations "were introduced for good reason because buildings literally collapsed ... but some of them did go a bit too far."

I can't see how any of the changes are reasonable. Auckland is literally on a fault line. Why is it exempt?

I'll make you even more mad...

Labour support these changes.

"However, those under three storeys and in towns with under 10,000 people would no longer need strengthening, remediation or warning notices"

"Requirements for fire safety and disability access would also be removed"

This is straight up dangerous #nzpol

I sure as heck wasn't proud of this decision, but now that our hairless leader says that we should be proud of it, I'm damned ashamed of it.

Palestine's recognition shouldn't come down to whether Hamas exists or not.

Disgusting.

Like seriously, this sort of shit fucks me off. We are facing huge rates increases BECAUSE of National and their anti-Three Waters campaign.

And their solution to fucking things up is to just fuck things up more.

We are governed by morons.

So Tim Pool was just flat out coping when he made up this elaborate story that Trump isn't a paedophile.

Occam's Razor, everyone: the simplest explanation is the answer: Trump is a paedophile.

I don't know if it's intentionally dishonest, but headlines like this imply it's a trade union behind this.

Nope. It's the fucking TPU (not a real union) bullying candidates to be more evil.

Fuck off, TPU.

The "Stop Three Waters" campaign was easily the most successful operation in racism in living memory.

They managed to convince people to accept far more expensive rates and infrastructure all in order to keep brown people from having a seat at the table.

The current system if applied to all vehicles is completely cooked. The scale starts at all vehicles below (IIRC) 3.5T, which if we assume the Ranger is correctly used by tradies and farmers weighs twice as much as a Toyota Aqua, but pays the same in RUCs despite causing more road wear.

This is all Three Waters fault!

Oh wait no... It's the opposite. It's because we didn't implement Three Waters and we went with "Local Water Done Well".

Who saw this coming?

Kids ask what words mean all the time, and I'm talking about English words here.

We have normalised them asking what English words mean, why do we refuse to normalise explaining what Maori words mean?

It's called LEARNING.

Us EV drivers have been pointing out how broken this system is since it was rolled out onto us, and the right just pointed and laughed.

Even still, those who drive inefficient cars will be better off.
krystalchandelier.bsky.social
Just watch this regime continue to be broken, much like the EV/PHEV RUC scheme, where a 1.7 tonne EV pays as much in RUCs as a Ford Ranger with a deck full of tools and a trailer load of materials.
