The Ditch can reveal that 75 Irish citizens have served in the Israel Defense Forces during its genocide in Gaza.

Opposition asked government about Irish nationals serving with Israeli forces – while they committed war crimes – two years ago.

LOL. Possibly even a ROFL.
A Korean bitcoin market intended to give away prizes worth ₩620,000 or about $425. Instead, they gave away 620,000 bitcoins worth roughly $40 BILLION at the time—despite not actually holding that many tokens. It’s a massive failure of crypto safety protocols. Now they’re asking for the coins back.

Time to bring a twitter series to Bluesky: Given the incredible number of 20th-century churches in Northrhine-Westphalia (the topic of my dissertation), I’m going post one or two every day. None of these images are mine, they're all credited in the alt text, and I'll take any down if asked

About 20,000 entire family homes around the country are listed as short-term lets.

We badly need to mainstream the idea that Airbnb-ing a property is disgusting speculation that denies a home to a potential renter or buyer.

Government has rowed back on plans that would ensure short-term let planning permissions would be required in towns with populations over 10,000. jrnl.ie/6952490

For years now, we've been chasing Irish Water to invest and fix this, but they haven't so far.

It's horrendous that every time there's heavy rainfall sewage overflows and runs into the Dodder and people's gardens.

The community knows what's going on. We need it fixed. It's not good enough.

They might as well just dump the slurry directly into the river as spread it on fields in these conditions!
What can be done about this?

Slurry spreaders out today in waterlogged fields beside the Boyne River - total madness and against regulations.

Water quality is deteriorating and there is little enforcement.

I was wearing hi vis when a motorist drove into me. Passengers in the car got out to tell me the driver was really upset because she didn't see me. I didn't have much sympathy as I was picking gravel out of my hands.

I was visible. She didn't look.
The hi viz will work great when I'm hit by a motorist looking at their phone.

Imagine being the locksmith that reports someone trying to get a copy of these keys.
(During an actual nuclear war, the operations officer and the communications officer were jointly responsible for simultaneously turning keys to initiate an ICBM launch. The airborne emergency action officer—the general officer aboard every “Looking Glass” flight—did not turn a launch key.)
