🪾 Este 20N se cumplen 50 años de la muerte de Franco y nosotras lo tenemos claro: enterremos el fascismo, enterremos el binarismo ✊🏽

Muchos de los preceptos del régimen fascista siguen vivos. Ante esto: nos toca responder. Construyamos antifascismo queer ❤️‍🔥 #AntifascismoQueer

This. Instead of helping selfpub authors (like the gurus said it would) AI is ruining chances for writers who might have been scammed by designers who swore it was all human made. At this point not everyone have the tools/literacy to spot it & readers won't touch you if you have been connected to AI
An issue with unknowingly using an AI gen cover from an unscrupulous scammer, btw, is that most people don't think through that you may have been fooled. No, they go straight to blaming the author. So you really have to inspect your cover designer's work closely, unfortunately.

Seeing @pdjeliclark.bsky.social tonight in the Sui Generis festival in Madrid. Which is very serendipitous since this is the next novel I've picked for my speculative fiction book club 💪🔥

Please pass around all your networks. Message me to be put in touch.

Magazines with submission guidelines where they come down so hard on one tense/pov/syntax or grammar model fascinate me. A tense seems like such a wide thing to "outlaw". I for one, find the anglosphere's insistence that the past tense sounds "more literary" very jarring

Can't believe @badaude.bsky.social has a book launch in Spain today when I'm in London and @suchmayer.bsky.social 's launch is this week but when I'm no longer in London. What is this conspiracy to keep me away from my favourite authors????

This is so cool.
Today for @theverge.com, I talk about transfem narratives: the epistemic lockout from mainstream publishing, the advantages and pitfalls of the self-pub model, and what a global transmisogynistic panic implies for our ability to make our voices heard and represent our own lives and worlds.
Trans women are building their own publishing world, and it’s under threat
Online communities are stepping in where traditional publishing stops.

“Well-meaning” people are using machine translation to write Wikipedia articles in languages that they don’t speak themselves, accelerating the degeneration in quality of the web corpus for several languages with relatively few native speakers.

How AI and Wikipedia have sent vulnerable languages into a doom spiral
Machine translators have made it easier than ever to create error-plagued Wikipedia articles in obscure languages. What happens when AI models get trained on junk pages?

I'm now writing a monthly column for @artreview.bsky.social

Works of Art looks at the intersections between art, labour & finance & asks how artists of all kinds are able (or not) to sustain creative practice.

If there's s'thing you'd like to see covered, message me.
