Also I love that in the Port Townsend Facebook group people are arranging “grocery buddies” to help make sure people get to the grocery store! I mean it’s sad that people don’t have access with transit but nice neighbors are helping neighbors.

Today is the day of my party. I haven’t had one here before (7 years now!) since my place isn’t accessible. Steep hill and lots of stairs. I apologize that it makes my place unwelcoming. We need universal design.

She's generally patient, organized, collegial, & direct. She doesn't spend much time grandstanding, and even though I have disagreed with many of her decisions, I've never felt like she had an underlying agenda. She's also competent and doesn't seem to try to micromanage or undermine central staff

I'm confused by this take. I don't think she'd fall into the same pitfalls as Nelson, trying to circumvent committees/rush things through without public feedback. I've sat through many council meetings and I'd argue that she is actually a great facilitator!
