I've shared before (maybe not on this prompt) but it's one of the best first lines (and definitely the longest) I've written, imo.
From one of the short stories in Dirt You Shall Become (which btw is only 99c right now)

“Susanne really hadn’t meant to become a murderer, but on that day – that godforsaken piece-of-a-shit day – where Niels’ snores kept her up all night, her hip ached for hours, the coffee machine went up in smoke, the car blew a tire on the way to the store, the cat puked on her favorite quilt, and when she finally sat down in peace with her crochet needle, Niels stomped through the study, complaining about some inconceivable little beetle that had eaten his favorite rose – ah, well…
She snapped.”
