I was today years old when I learned the car I've owned for nearly a year has heated seats.

Furthermore, I have *adamantly* denied their existence every time my spouse has inquired.

It's currently 75° here in sunny Florida and we likely won't have another cold snap until next December.

Jftr, the ADL has been having internal issues for months due to both its CEO's intense focus on Zionism (over ADL core values of countering bigotry and promoting democracy), and specifically his adoration of Musk, despite the latter's white-nationalist sympathies.

Thought I heard a plane, so I peeped at flightradar. No plane, but I did see a private Cessna doing slow loops over the airport. Probably flight lessons, right? But then it veered off and "landed" *in a forest*.
Should I... should I tell someone?

I'm still having a rough time with the fibro, BUT I'm the lead in a play! That hasn't happened in a long long while. And it's honestly been SUCH a lifesaver; even on days I'm dying, I will still drag my arse to rehearsal. Plus, my character doesn't have fibro, so there's weirdly some relief there

Ok, my best Twitter bud died some 12 years ago, and I haven't really felt comfortable with the short-form format since. Guess that has spilled over into this space, too. Sorry! I'm still mostly alive!

Good: I've been cast in a bucket list role in the first show I've auditioned for in YEARS
Better: I actually feel physically up to doing this!
Best: I lost all my healthcare

Oh wait I didn't do this right did I

UBI saves a ton of public money, but its lack of cruelty sends certain people into a rage, so it’s hard to put into practice.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

Motherfucker, this shit is fucking soothing.

Here’s a visualization of all the curse words being used on Bluesky in real time.

Each word is a cute fluffy little profane cloud.

It’s oddly soothing.

The thing that keeps getting me about all the pieces fretting about Bluesky being too insular is that the argument seems to be that those of us who are most likely to be abused by the right (BIPOC people, trans people, queer people, etc) must put up with being abused for the sake of public discourse

I've been an Anglophile my whole life. All the Britcoms & dramas, and, for music, Top of the Pops and Old Grey Whistle Stop were regular standbys. Wtaf is this "2Gs and The Pop People"?! It's real but it feels so freaking AI because only 6 episodes exist. Watch this obscure shit while you can.
