Green grass carpets the hills with patches of dark green oak trees. A narrow dirt trail leads to a metal windmill in the background with dark green mountains in the distance. The sky is a mixture of blue and soft, white and grey clouds. The windmill is at the Waddell Ranch site which has remains of a previous homestead including a cast iron bathtub, picnic table and architectural elements of stone and concrete. This is off the Froom Creek and Poppy trails in the Irish Hills of San Luis Obispo, California.

t took my breath away when I stepped on a ledge and saw this mind blowing landscape below. The magnificent mountains of Yoho National Park in the Canadian Rockies cradle turquoise lakes illuminated in intense light as the setting sun colors low lying clouds. Wonder, astonishment, disbelief. To me there is nothing more beautiful than the natural world, and it as times such as these when I know that this is where I belong. Mount Assiniboine and Sunburst Peak, Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada. On an early summer morning, beautiful puffy clouds reflect in the calm waters of Vermillion Lakes in the Canadian Rockies, while the distant mountains catch the first rays of the sun. Beautiful morning light illuminates the Canadian Rockies' towering Mount Assiniboine as, ever so briefly, underlying rocks and pebbles show through before the winds pick up again.

Our photograph shows a peaceful woodland waterfall set deep in the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland. The scene is viewed from a slightly elevated path on a sloping forest floor. In the centre of the image, a narrow stream flows downhill, its water glinting silver as it runs over dark, smooth rocks. Partway up the stream, a small waterfall spills gently over a rocky ledge, creating white froth before continuing its winding journey through the forest.
