Calling it ”the Schiff gambit” is like calling calling a curveball the “Zac Gallen Pitch.” He didn’t invent it and it’s not even the best.

Newsom did the same with Cox, which was a variation of what Davis did with Simon.

Hilton/Bianco will draw enough votes mostly on their own.

I’m a little disappointed that Will Smith is starting. Dave Roberts invented the concept of an opening catcher and bulk innings catcher. He could have put Rortvedt 5th in the order and let him catch 1 or 2 innings before pinch hitting Smith the first time through.

You realize that the “lesson” of the Schiff campaign, if any, is that Republican voters are going to vote for a Republican in the primary no matter how hopeless and hapless his candidacy is. They’ll vote for Steve Hilton or Chad Bianco (or John Cox or Steve Garvey) and then complain for 4 years.

Don't. And certainly don't give money to her. She is a pure grifter who wasted $80 Million that could have been spent on winnable (or even remotely winnable) races. But she sucked the money up because McConnell is terrible even though she knew she had no chance of winning.

Although, I suppose that the House might be shamed back to session after 7 weeks, when their proposed CR would expire anyway, and they can't justify staying at home and demanding that the Senate pass their bill.

But Johnson lacks shame, so who knows.

Unfortunately, no.

The Court has largely given up on the requirement that the other House give consent to an adjournment of more than three days. NLRB v. Noel Canning, 573 U.S. 513 (2014). And, as usual, rank and file Republicans have given up any of their own power to check Dear Leader.

In fairness, if they wanted to buy just a controlling share, they could do it for half that, so $8.5 Million.

Or with about 40%, they could probably control the board with some active investor allies, so like just $6.8 Million per person.

Totally reasonable.

It's important to remember (which Ted Cruz knows well): a government shutdown gives Trump no authority to fire government employees or permanently close government agencies. They can be furloughed--that's it.

But it's exactly WHY Democrats should not concede--Trump is breaking the laws anyway.

It's still better here than the other place, but we still have ridiculous people here.

Some guy retweeted (re-skeeted?) my comment (pointing out that it's fine for Yamamoto starts Game 3) to mock me. I reply pointing out the problem with his logic (we need to win 2 games), and then he blocked me.

It’s almost like you think we can win the WC series with 1 win. We have to win at least one game started by Ohtani or Snell no matter what. What does it matter if that’s Game 1 or Game 3?

If we lose two straight at home to the Reds (or Mets), we have bigger problems. Like the bullpen. Which makes me more worried about not having Kershaw available out of the bullpen, and more likely to rely on Treinen or Scott.

Affiliates' historic power is fading. More than ever, content is king, not distribution. It is becoming more important to retain Disney+ subscribers than to mollify affiliates. Local broadcasters have to compete with streamers, and can't do that with Family Feud reruns if Kimmel is on Hulu.

Don't discount the fact that the President of the Des Moines School Board, a prominent Democrat and long-time advisor to former Governor and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, is running for the US Senate.
