With the Dodgers signing Diaz, there are 2 possibilities:

(1) the Dodgers are done with FAs for the year; or

(2) the Dodgers are going to sign Tucker or Bellinger, a top tier starter (maybe Imai), maybe Bichette, and another reliever, to get everything before the CBA expires ( i.e. #SpendItNow).

The only dumber thing ever said was the part not written down, where he claims to have a "genius level intelligence."

He's obviously a moron.

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

It's not the second strike that's the problem.

(At least not the only problem.)
The boat strikes are illegal. Dope couriers are not military combatants. So killing them with air strikes instead of arresting them is murder. It’s that simple.

Absolute incompetence by Chuck Schumer. I’m as moderate/establishment as it gets, but I’m begging @aoc.bsky.social to announce her primary challenge ASAP.
-Oct 18, more than 7 million Americans stand up and stand together.

-Nov 4, millions of Dems turn out for landslide wins in VA, NJ, NY, CA, GA, many other places.

-Nov 9, eight "Dems" say "Oh, this nice Mike Johnson and Mr. Trump say they care about health. If they don't, well shame on them..."

"In 2024, death-sentenced prisoners asked the Court to review constitutional claims in their cases or grant a stay of execution 148 times. The Court agreed just three times, twice in the same case."

But if it will save 16 million kids from starving, then make sure to issue that stay.
This is actually a pretty standard and unremarkable move, as evidenced by Justice Jackson issuing it.

But most people won't believe that for several good reasons.

#BREAKING: Justice Jackson has issued an "administrative" stay, temporarily pausing a district court order that would've required the USDA to continue using contingency funds to pay SNAP benefits.

The stay expires 48 hours after the First Circuit rules on USDA's request for a stay pending appeal.

The Rockies are hiring DePodesta to run Baseball operations. He was fired as the Dodgers GM 20 years ago; 5 months later we drafted Clayton Kershaw. He runs football operations for the Cleveland Browns (2-6). He served in the Board of Sears just before it went bankrupt.

Great story by @mjszabo.bsky.social about our win in the Huntington Beach Voter ID case yesterday.

We will see if the City decides to go lose before the State Supreme Court too.

Big win for voting rights in California. The Court of Appeal ruled that the Huntington Beach Voter ID Charter Amendment violates state law.

We won, and if Huntington Beach wants to try to take it to the State Supreme Court, we will win there.
The California Fourth District Court of Appeal today reversed an OC Superior Court decision, striking down Huntington Beach’s voter ID charter amendment. The city can seek review in the California Supreme Court.

Story coming.

The other place sucks, but even Baseball Twitter has gotten terrible. Here it's all "wow, what an amazing series; can't believe how good the Jays were; amazing that the Dodgers pulled it out."

Over there it's still "Dodgers bought a dynasty; Jays tried to" and "Houston Never Cheated."

Just sad.
