Throw in wars (potentially civil) and climate change, plus the collapse of CDC/WHO/NIH infrastructure, and we will not be good in the next major catastrophe that comes along. The problem with accelerationism is when things go too fast. There are too many plates in the air.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I do think humanity as a species is cooked. The powerful have become too powerful, the rich too rich, and unlike previous times we've been here, they now have the tools to keep us all at each other and not trusting anything.

My webcomic ended today. I finished the first storyline, so it's not an abrupt, cliffhanger ending, but it never found an audience - this just isn't a good time for new things. I like the characters and world so might return to it one day, but for now I think I'm done with comics.

Comics in America is far more insular and narrowly focused than any other entertainment industry. They've made that focus more narrow as time passes, while everyone else expanded. Their clinging to comic shops only made them obscure while the properties make billions in other media.
