Soooooooo the garnishment isn't over. Interest and fees mean I still have this and one more check to go.

On the one hand, it's a cruel rug pull. On the other, this is the first time all year that this isn't panic inducing. We are OK. We will be OK.

I happen to know these two characters WOULD dance for this message.

This is my dance about how much transphobes suck.

Good morning, creatives! I've always been fascinated by crows and ravens because they are so intelligent. I've watched numerous documentaries, and I will find a way to write them into a fantasy story. Is there an animal that fascinates you?

While it’s true we shouldn’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good, we don’t have to accept the deeply shitty as the only alternative to the even shittier

When it comes to A.I., all of its ideal use cases are utterly moot until the underlying issues are first resolved.

The dangers is presents must first be tackled with unrestrained gusto and diligence. The power usage, the misinformation, the incentivization of dismantling industries.

I think the farmer thing is still not sinking in for a lot of people that didn't grow up around it.

Farming is already an extremely hard market to break into. Most new equipment, which you must sign away your rights to maintain on your own, cost upwards of 1.5 to 2 million dollars. Each.

farmers are probably generationally fucked. medicaid recipients are fucked barring some fix in the next budget round. rural health care systems are toast. employment is looking *very* wobbly.

This made me snort-laugh.

there’s this weird idea a lot of people seem to have about how all of us writers and artists must secretly want to use AI and are merely resisting temptation for ethical reasons, and like, no, it’s not hard for me to resist drinking the bowl of Piss With Glass In It actually

I’m still early into Yooka-Replaylee but…

They did it!

Immediately - controls better, looks better, sounds better, paced SO MUCH better, and funnier. And I say this as someone who still does not like the original Yooka-Laylee. But Replaylee so far is good, maybe even great!

It feels like there aren’t enough chapters left for a plot twist this year so let’s just wrap this up huh

We need an anti authoritarian party. Not just one who wants to be polite about it.

And this isn't a both sides bad post. This is saying we need to lift up the voices calling for accountability and liberty. Not just fight those who are rude as well as tyrannical.

Someday we need to reckon with the fact that most lawmakers on the left keep giving the far right a pass because they're terrified they will be held to standards and consequences too.

How many times has a dem leader given back power snatched during gop administration?

just watched a dozen people ask microsoft copilot experts their most pressing questions and those questions were 90% “how do i turn it off?” and “when i turn it off, is it really off or is it spying on me?”

Pam Bondi stands before a sea of inflatable frogs and says their lives will be spared if they give up the one known as Portland Frog.

“I am Portland Frog!” cries one.

“I am Portland Frog!” yells another.

Soon they all take up the cry and she quails in fear.

FOR WE ARE ALL PORTLAND FROG

I see a lot of people saying that a person charged with a crime deserves the chance to prove their innocence.

Please stop doing this because you have it backwards and this is really important.

It is ALWAYS the government's burden to prove a person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

Sometime I should make a post about the difference in how Fear & Hunger and From Software handle the Berserk influence. Because it's clear in both, but in very different ways.

From draws on atmosphere and theme and offers winks to Berserk. Fear & Hunger is basically Berserk: The Game.

The combination of the new YT algorithm plastering videos you've already watched on the Home screen + letting creators give videos multiple thumbnails and titles to cycle through...

It's brilliant, just brilliant, no notes.

Listening to perhaps my most popular book, brought to life by the absolute perfect narrator, is so fucking surreal, man.
