Don't know why I need an introduction - I imagine if you're following me you know who I am already, but hi! I'm Linkara. I review comic books on the internet and people like that for some reason. I also think too hard about Power Rangers and make spooky analog horror movies about snow monsters.

Eh, speaking from my own experience on this, sometimes it takes a while for disillusionment to set in, especially when you enter into your 20s VERY confident and sure of yourself over how the world works and what's right and wrong.

Honestly really happy with how these turned out. The design is simple - the tricky part was "how do I emulate the icy, slightly-translucent back?" and then I remembered I have transparent filament and the ironing ends up giving it a look like frosted glass.

It is odd that things that have held some kind of major hold in pop culture keep coming back despite every attempt to bring back something that only seemed to work in a specific era just... doesn't work anywhere else.

Yep, you've got it down great, honestly. That's kind of my problem with the quote as I boil it down, I think - it's not that any Trek series or Trek overall IS silly, it's that it CAN be silly - and there's nothing wrong it BEING silly sometimes. The quote just feels a bit rigid and definitive...

And yeah, she is correct that Star Trek encompasses many genres and tones, so I'm not mad about that, but just saying "this specific show is silly" is dumb, because that implies that the silliness is the norm when it is not.

UPDATE: He was just released. This shows that just indiscriminately took someone because they were Latino. Their illegal tactics continue so we still need neighbors to patrol, observe, and support our immigrant community.
Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.
Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

I don't know if it's really clear, outside of coverage of Mpls and pockets of organizing elsewhere, that hundreds of thousands of people are actively and at every level of society fighting our government as it abducts and imprisons and torments our neighbors.
