Excellent reality check from Sierkovitz. Don't contribute to the negativity funnel.
So we have a bunch of UB sets coming to town. I for one don't mind a bit. As long as sets are fun to play - I care very little if the set is based in the invented world of Edge of Eternities, or invented world of Star Trek. If there are Ninja Turtles or their budget version in Kamigawa. 1/

Think they've had enough? #MTGFIN

I've noticed a larger than usual number of my #MTGFIN draft opponents have been putting me on the play... Did this come up in limited discourse somewhere? Because it hasn't been working out for those opponents. Maybe don't do that without good reason.

The graveyard recursion decks in Commander Cube are something else (there's a Yosei in the graveyard that I'm looping).

As someone who has not really played commander in the last 10ish years, the @magiconline.bsky.social Commander Cube is a surprising delight. It feels like the commander I remember playing. Props to the designers for nailing the vibe, but also the other players for making amicable tables.

Bloomburrow's version of Vraska should have been this.
a snake whose hair is made of women

I don't care that every "going off with Ocelot Pride in cube" screenshot has the same general vibe, I love every single one of them. What an incredible card.

Whether you like vintage cube or hate it, I would recommend a listen to this episode.

If I can highlight one topic discussed, it's thinking as a player, vs thinking as the designer. It's very different if you're trying to make a fun experience for 8 people, from if you're just trying to win a pod.
@anthony.luckypaper.co and I are just leaning into the hate this week and venting about all the things we think suck about Vintage Cube. There has been a lot of engagement! luckypaper.co/podcast/238-...

It's funny how two of the most exhilarating games of cube I have ever played have involved everyone's lands being destroyed at some point, but the game continuing past that. I know there's something to this, but I'm not sure how to put it into words just yet.

This is the #hardenedscales list I'm coming back to modern with. No idea if it's any good, but my first league went 3-2 and felt pretty happy with a lot of the sideboard options.

I've seen some other lists running Darksteel Citadel for turning on Opal, and I'm very skeptical about that in 2024.

What's a #mtgcube card that is bound to lead you to a fun deck? I'll start: Lion's Eye Diamond

Even for Power Max #MTGCube this felt like bullying.

My partner got a Little Free Library from someone in our local Buy Nothing group, meaning I can do what I've always wanted with bulk cards - make little beginner decks and put them in it.
