Finished Metal Hellsinger and the current situation makes it bittersweet. I can see they had a lot of ideas and a fully working concept. An enormous commercial potential with partnerships. A desire to make a full Doomlike universe.

If you want extensive practical knowledge and not just use is as example from time to time, ofc you need to dive in. But it's never required beforehand

That's the problem with studying any media, we can watch parts and I fill the gaps, or we watch a whole episode. And I have a specific lesson on arcs (with Avatar the last airbender), I ask them to watch the entire show.

Well as an example of making show bibles (excellent bibles on google), characters, stakes, dilemmas, worlbuilding, freedom and constrains of limited means and IP, etc.

I'm impressed about how Peacemaker can slide seamingly meaningless conversations Tarantino-style to develop characters while never slowing the story. I'm sad when I try to do this but beta or QA says it feels like nothing happened.

I think I have enough content to teach narratove design for the whole year now. Given I adapt it to younger or older students, and specialists or not specialists of different classes I have. Same words, just takes more time.
