Anti-rights activists and hate groups have already made claims and suggestions on usage to restrict access to spaces via a digital locking system on doors of single-sex spaces.

I also don't trust arguably the most, directly, transphobic government in years to implement an id scheme which allows trans and non-binary individuals to identify as themselves. More likely will end up being used to block them from accessing spaces, thereby excluded from a lot of social activities.
