NEW: Something remarkable happened recently and hardly anyone noticed – GB electricity demand was 100% covered by clean power

We took a look at the data and this has happened for a record 87 hours in 2025 to date, twice as often as ever before

Ant queens of one species produce males of another species, so she can then mate with them and produce hybrid workers!

This is so gloriously weird I can't quite compute it 🤯🧪🐜

We can post reviews along the lines of 'this shirt uses a stolen design, you can find the original at...' ?

The magic of a resurrected #ghostpond just 3 years on. Nearly 30 wetland plants & Great Crested Newt where there was ploughsoil. This lost #pond was filled in >100 years ago but still had a viable seedbank 1.5 m below the field surface. The most successful form of ecological restoration known?

NEW: Ash dieback and other tree diseases are resulting in significantly more greenhouse gas emissions than previously thought because a large amount of carbon is escaping from woodland soils, a study has found.
