And this is not to say IWTV is bad or that it doesn’t have some great storytelling on its own. But the things that made Sinners amazing and made so many people who don’t care for horror or vampires love it, are not the same things that make IWTV good.

I need people to know that there about 20 Black and Brown vampires in the Vampire Chronicles. Some handled well, some not so great, and some terribly. But they are there and all have human stories of love and loss, a search for community. And no, they didn’t end up with white skin. ->
I'm not even going to talk about the specific take, but I will say that if you're going to write about how race is handled in The Vampire Chronicles, you should probably read the books in The Vampire Chronicles that have characters that aren't white in them. You know, to critique them? Accurately?

Makes me ITCH
There are a couple of subjects in The Vampire Chronicles that are quite problematic in nuanced ways that I would love to read meta about, but unfortunately everyone writing meta about those subjects hates the books and appears to have not read them. I think this is what hell is.
