As soon as I touch your child's library book, it becomes a transgender library book. I will not apologise. I also do pictures, mostly for @lhardingwrites.bsky.social. They/them

If anyone is still looking for private covid vaccines in London, Chemitex on Hornsey Road have a good stock in and are ready and raring to go with giving you one. (Also it costs £85 instead of 100 there.)

Since Link is banned, his mutual aid Fridays have gone with him. This was one of the most altruistic things I’ve seen anyone on this site do.

In light of this, I’m gonna try to fill the gap.

Drop your mutual aid requests under this thread and I will repost them for as long as I can.

One of the things about this study is that a lot of baby and toddler books are written in house, by editors. So the study reveals the whiteness of editorial in kidlit even if not explicitly. But, big picture, this trend is unacceptable. I remember so many promises www.theguardian.com/books/2025/o...
‘Catastrophic decline’ in Black representation in children’s books

Meet my newest creation Edith the Moth Phantom! I designed and hand-sewed her. She enjoys singing sea shanties with her cryptid band. They perform primarily for the moon. She also likes appearing to travelers as good or bad omens, depending on her mood.

Here's a lovely photo of my fabric art moth phantom. She's a white moth phantom with a gray face, large twinkly black eyes, and a little frown. She has curly white antennae. There are black and gray oval markings on her wings. There's a beautiful galaxy print fabric in the background. Here's another lovely pic of Edith. In this one, she's resting on my palm.

Having lived in Cambridge (UK edition) for seven years, I regret to inform you that this type of guy is real, I have met several of him and hated every second.

Oh hey, this is also my whole experience of being around other people.

I thought I would do a thread to reply to the below pal because there is a lot to consider about being autistic and feeling comfortable with people. It’s something I have thought a lot about recently 💘🧵

Tell me more. I'm curious what it's like. Do you mean like you feel like you can't be weird around people?

(Weird isn't being used negatively here)

You do a great job. There's so much good stuff that you've talked about that I would never have known about otherwise.

Time for another #cephalopod as today is #WorldOctopusDay! To celebrate our eight armed friends, our Library Assistant has chosen one of her favourite illustrations - Muusoctopus levis from the German Deep-Sea Expedition 'Valdivia' 1898-1899 🐙

Pretty little babies 🥰😍

The pearl octopus (Muusoctopus robustus) mates and nests in deep-sea thermal springs, where the warm water seeping from the seafloor accelerates the development of their embryos.

My manager's all like "I don't see how your neurodivergence affects you" and no, I am very good at masking at work, but as soon as you see me in a social context where my rent isn't dependent on me charming people I lurk in corners and stare like a ghost in a second-rate horror film.

Different fungi sprout from and around the skull, including red mushrooms with white spots, yellow fan-shaped mushrooms, gray cluster mushrooms, and orange bulbous mushrooms, with green and purple plants filling the background. 4) To break this silence, we need to open up a space where we're going to get criticized as well. Some bad choices in the past might be unearthed. We might have to admit we had bad takes on some stuff for long. When we truly care about community, we do this to get better collectively.

3) The first reaction that most band people have when discussing call-outs or generally being political in the scene is "but I also played with X and Y, now I'm next to get cancelled LOL" and equating anti-fascism with bad faith arguments and purity culture.

2) Because, guess what, if you've been in the metal scene for long (esp. the apolitical part and extreme subgenres), chances are that you HAVE been complicit in facilitating nazis in some way. I've been too - I've had a track in a comp with NSBM bands, I've performed with sketch bands younger.
