The first part of yesterday was pretty bad, but my spouse and I managed to turn it around once we got to leave work, and we had a pretty nice evening, so overall not a terrible anniversary.

So far only Kelly in Iron Spirit has a sib, her big brother Ken. He's very vital to the story, which might not've happened without him. Ken is a serious but caring guy who wants to protect his sister but also understands that they have a very dangerous job to do. He's dedicated to it above all else.

The homogenisation and consolidation of buisinesses and brands has led to the erosion of the midlist, the indie movie or band or comic. There's a real sense of "I'll only try media that's already popular / famous," and I'm begging you to look for the weird shit, the experimental, the niche.

Three step process:
1. Take a break and don't write at all for a day or two. It's okay to rest, we all need it.
2. Do a hobby that brings you joy but isn't writing. Draw, read, play a game.
3. Reread your own work to get inspired and also get back up to speed on where you were.

My 1st book took me multiple years & 4 multi-draft rewrites, & I went to college for writing & got a whole degree before finishing the final draft. I've learned A Lot since then. Right now I'm getting about a book a year, but I hope to do 2-3 next year, & keep that pace going for a while.

I publish one 80-100k+ word (epic fantasy) novel, and I can only do that because I drafted 8 novels before I started publishing any. 📚💙

VCed with my friend who's been reading BYMMS as I've been writing it & we went over a few chapters & the remainder of the outline. It's close to the end, but there's still like 10-20k left to write, I think. But if I can finish it this month I think I can release it before November is over.

There's a new used bookstore across from my work and I went to check it out, and happened to find 7 Anne McCaffrey mass markets-- and the store had a 7 for $5 sale on paperbacks, so I snatched them all up. Some are definitely dupes but whatever, I got them anyway haha.

It's funny because neither of them expected to even see each other again after the night they met, but they got along so well that they just kept going. Strangers to friends to lovers. Of course, there are bumps along the way, but you'll have to read the book to find out how they overcome them. 🤭

I think Bell & Tae are right for each other because their personalities mesh together well & they have a lot of fun together, & they clearly care about each other. Bell is so caring but also knows when to go with the flow. Tae has a good heart, even if he's not always the best at showing it.

BYMMS is my first romance book! Bell & Tae are an interesting pair, with Bell longing so deeply for love while Tae never thought he'd feel love at all. They clicked instantly, tho, becoming fast friends & eventually partners. Sometimes the moment you stop looking is when you find the thing you need.
