I'm also seeing a lot of very Bluesky reactions to this, like "I wish she could have done this without invoking religion" or "she needs to understand that one can be religious without being Christian". Uh, she's not speaking to you. She's speaking to him and using the language he understands.

This is hilarious to me, because someone I was watching the super bowl with was like "OMG THAT'S RICKY MARTIN! He has had some fantastic work done!" And then went searching for records of his skin care routine.

Someone should have taken dude’s phone before he posted such nonsense, though.

Keep in mind that this statistic does not include the dogs owned by police themselves that have been killed by negligence or malice.

I would love to have stats on working dog deaths. I would like to confirm that the biggest danger to them is being left in a hot car.
"Since launch, more than a dog a day has been found and more than 27 dogs a day every day every year have been shot by the police using your Search Party by Ring cameras to hunt and kidnap your neighbors who they also shoot to the tune of about 4 a day every day every year, as well as the dogs."

Just went to my first @ij.org court hearing and now getting some amazing pizza.

Good times.

again, the problem is not "masks enable bad behavior." the problem is, police aren't "public servants" and aren't accountable to the public and, therefore, don't have to do anything communities demand. it's up to us to drain police of their political power (and their $ and their personnel).
Rep. Mark Harris: "Some of these things are nonstarters. Having judicial warrants? To me, hat's a nonstarter. Being able to make off their mask, putting them at risk? That's a nonstarter. I would say anything that's going to hamstring the work of ICE, that's just not going to go anywhere."

At this point it’s like they have a fetish for being called out on it.

Pattison is owned by a Canadian who was facing protests over the deal (along with another Canadian contractor, Hootsuite). This includes strong words from their province's AG.

Not listing all the jobs I've had, but my most bullshit job was that, immediately after graduating, my county changed it's chaperone policy for onsite extracurriculars to require the presence of an employee.

I was 18 and was paid $1 for the entire year to help chaperone theatre techies.
5 jobs I've had (that had nothing to do with maps):

-Bookstore stock boy
-Camp counselor
-Water quality testing technician
-After school science teacher
-Urban canoe guide
5 jobs I’ve had:

Summer job as a cleaner where someone once vomited blood all over a toilet stall 🫥
“Title keyer” at provincial TV station for 6 months working on an ancient Amiga
Graphic designer for 1 or 2 yrs after internship
2 more years working from home for another company.
Self-employed 😬

For reasons, decided to check in on my Small Business Administration Woman Owned Small Business certification --- and guess what? DOGE wants women to get their spouses to sign off on their certification, despite them not having anything to do with the business!

So that's retrograde.

Everyone’s saying abolish ICE, but too few people are calling for government officials civilly liable for their unconstitutional transgressions.

Why is that?

My only hope is that tomorrow is a teacher workday and SACC is scheduled to be open.

They haven't made an announcement about tomorrow's status, but the school's offices were open today.

"An investigation led deputies to believe the money was obtained illegally."

In 9 of 10 roadside seizures, a free air sniff to get PC to search the vehicle, driven by a black man with a criminal record, is enough "investigation" to try and keep a person's property.

It feels so fucking good to go to the hardware store, once, then go to your basement, once, and install a shower head correctly the first time.

It’s a small thing, but it beats last week when I had to go twice and logged 23 flights climbed to put up some shelving. I live in a split level.

The way to square this circle — to make this more than “a law that says you must obey the law” — is for the new law to provide a new *remedy*, ideally a retroactive one (which confirms “this was always the law”).

So let me again yell STATUTORY BIVENS
