Fascinating result, and one grim takeaway: 23% of the voters who are going to decide who wins the next election believe that Democrats currently control at least one house of Congress.

The United States of America has always been three real estate boondoggles in a trenchcoat

I hate to tell you but Rand Paul is being correct again
Rand Paul: "I see not even a hint here of anything aggressive on [Pretti's] part. I don't think this should take months and months. There needs to be a conclusion ... the public needs to know, if I go to a protest and shout something at people, could I be killed?"

Just like us! Just like us!
The spreadsheet on this clay tablet, which is almost 4,000 years old, is organised into columns for furrowed area, grain produced, land not sown, and the field’s name.

The first field is called “Of the soldiers who stood in for their fathers”.

It’s ancient Excel, but I find that incredibly moving

Love the metaphor.

"AI is just like a disease that ended up, as it spread worldwide, causing serious economic issues requiring government intervention. Killed millions, damaged education, lost jobs."

We tried to stop the disease & undo its effects. Just saying.
This post argues AI is having a moment similar to when you heard about some illness in China back in February 2020.

Tech workers just watched AI go from “helpful tool” to “does my job better than I do.” Everyone else is next. Get your financial house in order and lean into what’s hardest to replace
Something Big Is Happening
A personal note for non-tech friends and family on what AI is starting to change.

Oh yes
Something I've noticed with the current state of the "culture wars":

The same aggressive overreaction occurs over even the most benign statements. I've seen people on the right lose their minds over someone simply calling for kindness and compassion, as if such a benign call is an assault on values

Love "nasty piece of cornbread."
She is an empty suit, of course. And an absolute nasty piece of cornbread.

She is also, to my somewhat trained ear, absolutely, positively terrified here. She is either intimidated by the process or deeply anxious about her relationship with her boss. Or both.

But she is terrified.

Answer: The Dow is over $50K.
