A new study has shown that miscarriage or induced abortion is NOT a potential risk factor for breast cancer, contrary to continued anti-choice propaganda. Even several abortions or miscarriages does not increase risk. The study used high-quality Finnish registry data.
Prior abortion or miscarriage not linked to increased risk of pre- or postmenopausal breast cancer
A prior abortion or miscarriage was not linked with an increased risk of developing pre- or postmenopausal breast cancer in a study published in Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica.

I’m all for data security but the amount of time wasted on QuickBooks and Quicken downloads not working because someone changed something is absurd.

I would like to stop adulting and perhaps be a dog. Preferably one that gets to nap and eat and then play all day. Sign me up for that!

“America’s golden age” was a complete lie.

The numbers tell the truth: Trump has been a disaster for American industry and is killing the blue-collar jobs he promised he’d bring back.

Trump’s record: fewer jobs and higher prices. Change can’t some soon enough.

What does it say that I, a college graduate with 35+ years of business experience, cannot navigate my kids’ high school requirements for all the different forms?

Starfleet Academy building a show around a character from another show that much of its audience has probably never seen is an interesting choice. My kid has never seen DS9.

It’s amazing how I can get up, ready to get the day going, and get utterly derailed by a kid waking up sick.

I say it again and again...the Repugnican party must be totally obliterated in the upcoming elections, so that there will never be even the remotest possibility that a shitshow like this can ever happen again.

Vote as if your very existence depends on it ... BECAUSE IT DOES!!!

I finally finished the movie Fair Play that I probably started a year ago and just couldn’t get into it. If you think Neil LaBute is a genius, you might like it. I found it slow and annoying, but I do tend to finish the movies I started, for better or worse. Usually worse.

The two-part Mel Brooks documentary is very funny and charming. Sad to realize while watching that Carl and Rob are gone and Mel is still here.

It’s supposed to be 80° in San Diego tomorrow. On January 31. That’s not normal. I’ll try to enjoy it, but it’s not normal.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

So I watched the Canadian medical drama Transplant the last few weeks. It’s entertaining and even moving, but I struggled with the idea that a Syrian doctor would move to Canada and seem to be instantly a cultural fit.

Why does Starfleet Academy look like a mall? And are we supposed to believe they built it on the ground? Can Star Trek stop pretending they would build massive spaceships on planets or land them on planets? TOS never did this.

I understand AI is supposed to be evil, but I mostly view it as a tool. I am currently running a test to see how it does checking part of a novel for Chicago style. It will track all changes. It was told not to rewrite anything. How is that different from Word’s spelling and grammar checker?

I’ve been editing a novel for a client. Hours of sitting, scrolling, commenting, cutting, rewriting, etc. I miss pencil edits.

Watched E1 of #StarFleetAcademy and was really put off by the depiction of Star Fleet treating prisoners so violently. I think it needed more context, in that, after the Burn, even the Federation struggled to remain civilized and not sink into barbarism.

This is your reminder that Hungarian-Jewish scientist George de Hevesy dissolved two Nobel Prizes in aqua regia to keep them out of the hands of the Nazis.

He then left the dissolved solution on his shelf and fled to Sweden.

(After the war he un-dissolved the gold and the prizes were re-cast.)
