Quick introductory post: I teach English as a Second and Third language and Ethics to high schoolers in Germany. A went ice-skating with friends at an outdoor rink today. As much as I love ice skating, my feet have been painful of late... So I went swimming at the pool across the road. I lost count after 30 laps of the 25m pool but according to my Fitbit, I swam 1,125m! Pretty proud of myself.

Trying to open a Girokonto for M has been a JOURNEY. It doesn't help that they don't accept my German ID as it's a residency permit rather than an Ausweis (yet another reason I say HURRY UP ON MY CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION) and were quite suspicious of my Aussie passport. I also did the ID check in...

I know I come here every Friday and wax lyrical about my Baccalaureate class, but finishing the week with them is just *that* good. They love the play we're doing, we've had incredible conversations, and today I had them perform some dialogues they had written. They were so supportive of each other!

We continue to have issues with the Dexcom G7 App! Thank goodness I was awake at 4am (thanks, perimenopause) when Ava's blood sugar suddenly took a dive because despite having all the correct settings, the app DID NOT SOUND AN ALARM. I caught it and gave her juice before it was too bad #T1D

When you get to the end of a five hour stretch of lessons and wonder why you have a headache... Then pick up the (cold, still full) cup of tea you made this morning... My Wednesday timetable continues to be challenging.

This tiny bundle arrived fifteen years ago today. We hadn't even built the cot because I was so sure she'd arrive late.
She did not.
She arrived early, quickly, yelling indignantly at the world. She is still a force to be reckoned with and I am so freaking proud of her. Happy birthday, M 🎉🎂🎁

Had a conversation with a student a couple of weeks ago which resulted in us plotting an afternoon tea in our double lesson today. I made GF scones for the coeliac student and brought cream, tea, cups, plates etc. My student baked a big batch of scones and brought a jar of jam. #EduSky
