When you're both a gamer and technology professional and you've got your desktop doubling as a K8S node on a network with limited GPU compute, you do what you must.

Was it ignorance or gaslighting though? 🤔 A few gaslighting and the rest useful idiots?

I don't believe Bluesky is a permanent answer, but being able to pivot to a different platform as needs must is important. Twitter/X is a fascist hellhole and is *not* a neutral town square / public forum.
Thanks @wgreaves.bsky.social
Part of defending Canada‘s democracy and sovereignty = stopping sources of disinformation + division. Would appreciate if you could please encourage @mark-carney.bsky.social to ban X and get all government accounts onto BlueSky instead!
@mark-carney.bsky.social
Long past time to ditch X.
It’s like if we’d allowed widespread publication of Das Reich in WW2 or helped amplify Radio Moscow during the Cold War. (AND if our governments were at the same using those same channels to share info). It’s bananas.

While I am quite good at very many things, it will never stop bothering me that doing all jobs at once is pretty much par for the course to succeed as an individual in the modern "digital economy".

First takeaway from this article: media landscape in Canada is even more f'd than I thought.

Best takeaway from this article: this Ahmed Al-Rawi guy and the Disinformation Project sound awesome and I need to dig deeper into his work.

2026 web design PSA: test your auth flows with password managers. If your field validation doesn't work when my chosen password manager autopopulates a field without me focusing the field and physically typing on my keyboard, it's stupid and annoying.

Excerpts from one of my all-time favourite textbooks, Rationality and Power by Bent Flyvbjerg. It is a fascinating tale of decision-making in the city council of Aalborg, Denmark. press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/bo...

Anyway, here are some poignant and relevant (and blurry) pics from my 2007 reading.

I participated in Model UN once waaaay back in high school (representing Mali). Honestly, most of those students were waaaaay more researched and effective than the US Congress...
You should be embarrassed to be a member of congress and issuing anything other than impeachment resolutions. You're in the model UN. They should give you legos and a propeller hat

Regulate. GenAI. Now.

I don't hate the inherent technology but failure to regulate at this stage is fully inexcusable.

This unsafe tech should not be in chat bots, children's toys, marketed as a friend, etc. all so VCs can reap the spoils.
Uh… check out what ChatGPT allegedly told a man before he killed his mother and then himself.

I don't know who needs to hear this but Kubernetes Gateway API HTTPRoutes can each only connect to a single Gateway listener (port) at a time.

Took me way too long to figure out where I was going wrong.

My overall new year plan for now (I don't resolve, I need agility): find fulfilling work that aligns with my values.

Last year's goal was to find work too, but I quickly pivoted to working on mental health when that need and opportunity became more clear.

"I don't believe in therapy" brought to you by the same chuds who believe trans folks "need therapy"

Bro, we all could use a little therapy in 2026, but that's not the story.

I'm down with the Great Meme Reset but 2015 isn't far back enough. Socially Awkward/Awesome Penguin was and still is a mood.

Kubernetes is pretty neat. Finally got around to building up a baremetal cluster at home to replace a bunch of disparate Docker containers and VMs.

Using Canonical K8S but got frustrated with presets early on and stripped it down. No longer using any stock features except enabled local storage lol.
