over their lifetime is not positive. This is irrelevant and should never be a factor in deciding whether to support their education and wellbeing. Every child has the right to feel valued and included. Their wellbeing and mental health is not a financial decision.
While it’s important to highlight the economic benefits of investing in the education of children with special needs, it is critical to recognise that this is a question of fundamental rights. Some children have significant difficulties that mean that over the « return on investment »

Perhaps because I read it just after reading “Orbital” which was very beautiful and poignant.
Just finished “In Ascension” and I don’t get the hype or the very positive reviews. It reads well but it is far from being “mesmerising”, “monumental” or “magnificent”.

Today marks 17yrs since my brave & beautiful mum died, her final weeks were distressing & she didn’t get to meet George born 4 weeks later or see me enter politics.
As I vote in favour of assisted dying on Friday I will be thinking of her & how we could have given her more dignity & help others
I do hope the bill will pass
