progressive candidate in the prime of his life tapped into this political moment: we should do nuremberg trials for ICE and their enablers to stomp out fascism forever

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

Nobody wants it as a story but I have multiple NYPD sources who voted for Mamdani, are eager for his win in November, and who say their colleagues quietly feel the same.

They like that he wants NYPD to focus on crime, not quality of life enforcement.

Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?
A tweet from Bari Weiss that says “"It's shaken me to my core," a lieutenant said of Mamdani's unexpected victory in June. "The absolute dread I feel is palpable.
"
Today in @TheFP our @Olivia_Reingold talks to the cops who say they will walk if Zohran Mamdani is elected in November:”

SAG-AFTRA has released a statement on Tilly Norwood, the AI "performer," saying:

“To be clear, 'Tilly Norwood' is not an actor, it’s a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers — without permission or compensation."
SAG-AFTRA Statement on Synthetic Performer

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 30, 2025) — SAG-AFTRA has released the following statement on the announcement of “Tilly Norwood,” an A.I.-generated “actor” that is reportedly seeking representation:

“SAG-AFTRA believes creativity is, and should remain, human-centered. The union is opposed to the replacement of human performers by synthetics.

“To be clear, “Tilly Norwood” is not an actor, it’s a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers — without permission or compensation. It has no life experience to draw from, no emotion and, from what we’ve seen, audiences aren’t interested in watching computer-generated content untethered from the human experience. It doesn’t solve any “problem” — it creates the problem of using stolen performances to put actors out of work, jeopardizing performer livelihoods and devaluing human artistry.

“Additionally, signatory producers should be aware that they may not use synthetic performers without complying with our contractual obligations, which generally require notice and bargaining whenever a synthetic performer is going to be used.”

Dude if the Democratic Party has a place for anti-trans and anti-abortion candidates then I’m not a democrat and I won’t vote for one

I don’t know what to tell you man, there’s already a political party who believes these things

It’s not a “big tent” to have zero fixed values in pursuit of power

The following is a statement from the WGA on ABC’s decision to pull ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
WGA Statement on ABC's Decision to Pull ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.
As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree.
Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich.
Silencing us impoverishes the whole world.
The WGA stands with Jimmy Kimmel and his writers.

I wrote about "Obeying In Advance" and phone addiction and how at some point we have to look at the number of mass shooters that view violence as an extension of shitposting and ask "Are we, as a species, incapable of surviving extended exposure to the internet?"
In a twist that shouldn’t surprise me by now, I was told be a fleet of phone addicts that I was “obeying in advance”. Their logic was that by telling them not to put evidence in the evidence machine, by warning them that digital vigilantes and the FBI alike were calling for generalized retribution against the Left, I was encouraging preemptive capitulation to fascism.

This grandiose tone has become increasingly common on social media from a set of people who refuse to accept that their own addiction to looking at their phone is more a byproduct of corporate manipulation than it is any sign of their own altruism. They see themselves as put upon activists and view posting as the only way to really have your voice heard. That they are algorithmically doomed to not exist to anyone whose mind they might change is incidental. These people operate under the idea that social media is a force for good as opposed to, say, a digital Gymboree for adults designed to create the illusion of satisfaction in angry people so that they won’t do a Bastille Day. Let’s put it simply. I think that we are psychologically incapable of surviving long term exposure to the internet. I think the amount of information we absorb daily was already a problem and the fact that tech companies are now able to perfectly tune it to our most base desires is a five alarm fire. I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface of what society-wide internet addiction is doing to us or will do to us in the future. Decreased attention spans, widespread texting and driving, and hunched necks are going to be just the tip of the iceberg. We invented a machine that makes kids want to kill people and we’re all paying ours off with Klarna.
