RIP Hideki Sato. Former Sega President (2001-2003) and father of Sega's consoles, including my favourite one, the Mega Drive, has passed at the age of 75.

I love pointing people to the Steam hardware survey.
Most people are gaming at 1080p, right now! At 8 GB of VRAM, and 16 GB of RAM! Generative AI bullshit means the number of people who will be at that spec for the foreseeable future is pretty dang high!!

I'm cheating a little with this since I did play SegaSonic 5 years ago, with Trackball controls, at the VGA when it was still in Notts lol so I have the 'Authentic' and How Everyone Will Likely Play It These Days experiences

I never got why SEGA had so many isometric games in it's catalouge, but now with Zaxxon/Congo for context, it comes off as a little signature. I mean belt scrollers in this perspective is still a unique thing to this day! Let alone Sonic's trackball controls

They reall F'ed up with the system of you need to switch sides all the time, I'd be able to swallow the boring parts if it was in service of a greater "Make map good colour" but needing to undo you're own progress on purpose is diabolical design haha mechanicly meaningful but make brain feel bad lol

Even worse I only just realised I can lock my account if I cancel the ticket lmao so my wait time is reset, but at least I'm not panicing anymore! God peace of mind at last haha what a horrid 24 hours!!!!
