As someone whose name is very much in the FBI file on Peters, I have to confess that I hope she doesn’t turn into any more of a MAGA cause celebre.
Concern continues to grow that former county clerk and convicted felon Tina Peters may be transferred to a federal facility and then released. Because she is jailed on state charges, Trump cannot currently pardon her — but they’re trying anyway.

County clerks are speaking to this concern today.

Wow — Senators Van Hollen, Smith, Murphy, Sanders, Warren, Markey, Merkley, Heinrich have created an official internal "Fight Club."

They're challenging Schumer & Gillibrand's leadership, arguing the party is using an old, corporate-friendly playbook insufficient to take on Trump or win elections.

A truism which has been continually proven accurate during my 15 years in politics:

No one inside the political world believes corruption is as big of a deal as EVERYONE outside of the political world does.

Act accordingly.

Thinking there’s a difference between “environmentalism” and “material prosperity” is just very, very dumb.

Love to prosper with my lead poisoning while the fumes from the burning Cuyahoga and inescapable smog choke my crops and squash the GNP.

It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

But then I remember that “religious” means “white Christian identity politics,” and “freedom” means “Christian nationalists’ unrestricted ability to impose their beliefs on others.”
