Glad to have a safe haven like Bluesky sometimes. Have been getting harassed non-stop by bullies on Twitter for suggesting that so-called "adults" should grow up, and stop celebrating Halloween for two weeks straight.
The dialogue in idiocracy is, strangely, better than this

Even in this place, I feel the sheer scale of foreign aid being demolished isn't fully appreciated. As it stands, it is perhaps *the* most catastrophic change to preventable deaths in our lifetimes, and the salience - even in presumably friendly spaces - is basically zero

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has repeatedly said “no one has died" because of his government’s decision to gut its foreign aid program.

I'd hate to be one of the interns manning the customer service email at 23andme or myheritage as every 5th generation Greek in Australia demands they run his dna against the data from the study, as if the companies would have access.

There was a cohort of comedians that the BBC decided, ten years ago, to invest in along their entire careers as the resident funnymen and -women. They were, indeed, in everything whether they fit or not. www.bbc.com/news/article...

The comic says he understands why people feel they see a lot of him, but jokes: "I do say no to stuff."

Are they? I think it's just worth more to them as a battleground, figuratively or even literally, where they can put their big boy pants and get into performative spats with Ireland or Brussels.
Love how the British transport police took a look at stats showing boomers are horrified by the low % of crimes ever solved and thought, let's piss off young professionals too.

While the conservatives are no longer a real political force it's hard to imagine reform will promise less.

people need to face the fact that Britain will not wake up and reverse the decline.
Well it has happened.
The leadership of the Conservative&Unionist Party is advocating leaving the ECHR. Not reforming it, or working with other members to alter any rules.
Leave it. Like Putin’s Russia.
I can’t help wondering what those Tories who are rightly proud of 🇬🇧’s support for 🇺🇦 are thinking.

I call this "cuck-checking".
Classic Labour combatting of the Reform proposal to recind past indefinite leave to remain status. 'Unworkable'. What does that even mean? Sounds like civil servants arguing amongst each other. To be swept aside with 'of course it's workable'.
