“Relationships take hard work” is commonly misunderstood I think as being about the external work, putting up with or compromising, “settling,” which sure, it is sometimes… but it’s definitely more about the internal work of being worthy of space near folks with who you find an effortless existence.

I went to Portland for a week and came back to 44 eggs on our counter and another dozen in the fridge. So I’m making quiches and frozen egg bites. Deviled eggs in a few weeks…

I’ve seen multiple instances of PHD holding experts with large followings have willfully misinterpreted a thing in order to be angry and nasty to one of their followers and that shit has got to stop. I expect better from you. Knock it off.

We think as we get better at something there will be less critique but actually there is more. There is never a point where you / your work will be universally loved. Instead, as your skill increases so does the skill of your audience in understanding your work and being critical of it.
