There’s a comment piece in The Times about sickness benefits mysteriously going up and no mention of Covid, long Covid, the effects of lockdown etc. Boosters help people stay healthy, but now they are only available to the very old or people who can afford them.

It’s dispiriting that this is what getting a COVID vaccination now looks like to this chronic asthmatic.

We've got an M&S mini at the local BP, so filling station flowers are a bit fancier 'round here. #TheArchers

He did seem to take the fact that no-one came to the party in his stride. It's looks like he's got a better understanding of feelings in the village than some of his family have. #TheArchers

I just don't feel Amber's in that league.

Good question about accountants. Working out the tax on Benefits In Kind must be a nightmare. #TheArchers

Evening all. Slightly sore arm tonight as I have just had my flu and covid jabs 👍.
I had to fork out the best part of a ton & didn't even get a sticker to say I've been a brave girl 😒. #TheArchers

After a long pause, I've just done another England Covid & NHS update as we head into the autumn/winter season.

TLDR: we're in a significant Covid wave now, the NHS is stretched, get boosted if you're eligible.

Good point. When she first said she'd left her parents, it felt like an excuse to force herself on the Grundys. Maybe her parents just said she could never bring a jailbird back to theirs, so she thought she might as well settle in with his family. #TheArchers

I wasn't sure if that had been confirmed. Are we just taking Amber's word for it? #TheArchers

That wouldn't pay much & I doubt the Influencing is a lucrative as she makes out. Is she being bankrolled by Mum & Dad after all? Do they think she's away on some trip rather than just the other side of the bypass? Have they even been told about George? #TheArchers

Has her bond with Emma always been stronger? There was her lack of bonding with Chris at birth. #TheArchers

No, some sort of country/farming suppliers I think. #TheArchers

"Playtime is astounding, but to think back to Jour de Fête is to trace the arc of a man who began as a Brueghel and wound up as a Mondrian."

Surely the escalating pace of major cyber attacks shutting production lines down all around the world should tell us we either need to take cyber security much, much more seriously than we currently do, or that we should stop connecting literally everything to the internet.

The last few days I have seen first hand the NHS struggling to meet needs.
Staff of all kinds of nationalities & skin tones at GPs, hospitals & ancillary services working hard and remaining cheerful in the face of overwhelming demand and awkward, sometimes rude patients

I'm with you. Why would you do that to a tree?

I assume you meant Chris/Fallon. It's not a thing, Chris is staying at Fallon's because he normally lives in the flat above the shop that's affected by the dry rot work. #TheArchers
